Summary: Launched in January 2019 and formerly known as the Bitclout, DeSo is a blockchain and platform that boasts itself to be the new era in social media and aims to take on the likes of Meta and Twitter. In its attempts to solve centralization issues of traditional social networks, DeSo is first and foremost developer-centric. It aims to empower creators and in doing so treats the social media content as a publicly available and permissionless utility.
